Dominican Republic is a world famous spot for amber production, and especially for the unique inclusions found in the amber and in less amount for the fossils found in the Tertiary amber bearing sediments. During this workshop will be examined major questions concerning the geological setting, age, fossil content and handcraft techniques related to amber production, both as scientific presentations (oral and poster) and during field trips to amber-bearing sites in the Cordillera Oriental and Cordillera Septentrional of Dominican Republic. Special Event. Participants of the workshop are kindly invited to visit the Museum Mundo de Ambar and Museum of Larimar in Santo Domingo.
