Cliff and John's field trip to Alamo Steel in Waco
Photos from November 22, 2005
Millions of dollars in milled steel stock in Alamo's storage wing.
Cliff (center), Toby (hidden) and Matt (right) confer with the Alamo rep on the specs for one of the beams that will be a part of our building. (Toby and Matt are with Fintco, the construction manager for the project).
Cliff, Toby and Matt inspect the huge machine that bends steel. Watch your fingers!
A steel worker polishes a cut.
Yes - it's bent on purpose. This beam is for the connector between the BEG and the new building, where there are some non-square angles.
The final bay - where steel is painted and loaded onto trucks for delivery.
The rust-red paint inhibits rust (or does it just hide it?).
Outside in the main yard.
Cliff for scale.
