UTIG postdoctoral fellow, Alejandro Escalona, is one of the coordinators of this workshop which is being held during the XIII Venezuelan Geophysical Congress. Alejandro will speak on the subsurface geology of the Maracaibo Basin and its relation to Andean and Caribbean tectonics. Alejandro also will teach a two-day shortcourse on the geology of northern South America.
