Introduction

If you were to conduct a survey at your local mall and ask people what comes to their mind first about the north and south poles they would most likely say "penguins and polar bears."

Now, that is a great place to start, but unfortuately, many people mistakenly believe that penguins and polar bears are residents of both poles.  This is not the case. Polar bears live in the Arctic north and penguins live in the Antarctic south.  There are many misconceptions and misunderstandings about the poles.  Through this webquest you will learn more about the Arctic and Antarctic.
