Control Centre Unit
You are basically the central
nervous system of the station. You need to monitor communications within
and from outside the station, computer facilities in the station and instrumentation
facilities for scientists in the field.
Communication
- You need to be especially involved
in weather monitoring. If a bad storm is approaching, you need to
be able to alert others.
- A phone system between buildings
works well to communicate within the base
- Outside of the base, you must rely
on radios and satellites
- Short wave radios often can often
"patch" calls from Antarctica to the outside world.
