Transportation and Engineering Unit

You are responsible for all vehicular activity at the station including snowmobiles, trucks, planes and helicopters.  You are also responsible for operating and managing the fire fighting equipment at the station.  Remember, Antarctica one of the driest places in the world, and fires can begin here quickly.

What sort of facilities would you include in your plans?

Transportation:
Think about storage (of vehicles, fuel and transported goods), maintenance.  How many, and what kinds of vehicles do you think you need?  Keep in mind that some scientists might need to travel to various locations on the continent to adequately perform their scientific research.

Engineering:
Since you are in charge of construction of the buildings you have to keep in mind that a lot of construction may have to take place indoors (where it's warmer).  You also need to be sure that your buildings can survive any harsh conditions that may occur.
