Bobby ReeceTelephone: 512-471-0352 PhD candidate, Marine Geology and Geophysics BA, Geology, Skidmore College, 2008 Supervisor: Dr. Sean Gulick |
Research:
As a part of the St. Elias Erosion/Tectonics Project, Bobby conducts research in the deepwater Gulf of Alaska using seismic reflection, bathymetric, magnetic, gravity, and drill core data. His research focus is on the sedimentary and tectonic effects of Yakutat terrane flat-slab subduction beneath the North American plate on the Pacific plate. Specifically, Bobby studies climate-tectonic interaction and mass wasting represented in the Surveyor Fan, and crustal-scale deformation and shearing of the Pacific plate.
