Climate
Climate research at UTIG concerns processes relevant to future global change as well as the analysis of past climate over time scales from years to millions of years. Problems of interest concern the mechanisms responsible for abrupt climate change, decade to century-scale climate variability, dissipation of wind and tidal energy in the global ocean, and the quantification of modeling uncertainties. This research requires the analysis of satellite, instrumental, and geochemical-based climate proxy data using high-resolution computational models.
