using Samba

Samba is a program that enables you to access any directory on the unix system directly from your PC
This will let you see all the data in the /disk/staff/flemings directory (all project and student files)

To access unix directories:
1. From your PC, Start-> My Computer
2. Right click on "My Network Places", then left click on "Map Network Drive"
3. Choose whatever drive you would like (as long as it's not already linked) (ie. "S")
4. In the Folder window, type \\utig2.ig.utexas.edu\disk_staff\flemings
NOTE: IT IS NOT \disk\staff, it is disk_staff

5. Choose "Reconnect at logon", make sure this says IG\pflemings (you should use your own userid)
6. Click "Finish"

The link will show up automatically in your "My Computer" screen every time you login to the PC
