Here is the electromagnetic spectrum

Here is the electromagnetic spectrum.  This plots all the types of electromagnetic waves based on their wavelength, frequency and energy.  EM waves are constantly around us but it is so difficult to notice most of them.  Notice how much of the spectrum visible light takes up.  Visible light is the only kind of EM wave that we can naturally detect.  Certain animals can naturally detect other types of waves such as bats that can detect ultraviolet waves.  Notice the huge range of wavelengths, frequency and energy between the different types of waves.
