This award, provided by the Antarctic Geology and Geophysics Program of the Office of Polar Programs, provides funds for a study to investigate the tectonic development of the southwestern Ross Sea region. This is a collaborative project with Dr. Terry Wilson, Ohio State University.

Steven Stevenoski, a high school science teacher at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, joined the cruise as part of the Teachers Experiencing Antarctica and the Arctic program. Steve provided an online photo journal chronicling his experience at sea. This is Steve's second trip to Antarctica; he joined Dr. Lawver on the 1995 Palmer cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula.
