Seismic Project Information OLYMPIC
Offshore Oregon

This cruise, supported by NSF and the USGS (NEHRP grant 1408-0001G2072), collected OBS as part of an onshore-offshore experiment across the Oregon subduction zone. The F/V Olympic conducted OBS operations with the Digicon M/V GeoTide (GT8909) providing a large-volume airgun array. Seven OBSs were deployed along the cross-margin line. The objective was to obtain a two-dimensional image of the velocity structure of the subducting oceanic crust and overlying material from the toe of the accretionary wedge arcward to beneath the Coast Ranges.
